Psychiatric consultation for adolescents 13+

What an online psychiatric consultation for adolescents involves

A psychiatric consultation for adolescents 13+ is a meeting with a psychiatrist that includes the family perspective. We discuss the adolescent's symptoms (low mood, anxiety, withdrawal, irritability, sleep problems, drop in motivation, difficulties at school and in relationships), possible causes and available forms of treatment and support — including when it is appropriate to start psychotherapy.

How the visit proceeds – adolescent and parent

During the visit part of the time is devoted to talking with the parent or guardian, and part — as far as possible — individually with the adolescent, so that both perspectives are heard. I ensure a safe atmosphere in which the young person can talk about difficulties without judgment, and the parent receives concrete guidance on how to support the child daily.

What difficulties you can seek help for

Depression, anxiety and school stress

I help adolescents with low mood, suicidal thoughts, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, excessive worrying, as well as difficulties resulting from school overload, performance pressure and peer relationships.

Problems with sleep, eating and concentration

I work with young people with insomnia, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, symptoms of excessive tension and difficulties with concentration and organization that may indicate ADHD or other neurodevelopmental disorders.

ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders in adolescence

I diagnose ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders in adolescents, differentiating them from depression, anxiety or school burnout. If more in-depth diagnostics are needed, I propose a separate, structured process using dedicated tools so that treatment decisions are based on reliable data.

What we establish after the consultation

After the consultation we discuss whether pharmacological treatment is indicated, what other forms of help are needed (individual psychotherapy, family therapy, school support) and what concrete changes could help relieve the adolescent. You will receive a clear, implementable plan of further steps for the child and the whole family.
